Kemest ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a data subject.

Your data is stored on Firebase infrastructure, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some of our service providers, including Firebase/Google Cloud, may process or store your information on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to data protection obligations that provide an adequate level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, as required by section 72 of POPIA.

You can delete your account at any time directly from the Kemest app:
Upon deletion, your profile and personal information are permanently removed. Order records and transaction data may be retained for up to 5 years to comply with legal and financial obligations. Seller payout records are retained as required by South African tax law.

The Kemest app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. This data is aggregated and anonymised where possible. Our website (kemest.co.za) may use cookies to maintain session state. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
The Kemest Platform is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately and we will delete the account.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
In accordance with section 55 of POPIA, Kemest (Pty) Ltd has designated an Information Officer responsible for compliance with POPIA and for handling data subject requests and complaints. The Information Officer can be reached at support@kemest.co.za.
